Versma Management Services was established in 2000 as a full-service provider to our select small-to-medium broker partners. Our business offering continued expanding to meet increased demand from other companies, which eventually grew into our full-service offering today.

Johan Priem (Snr)
Johan joined the industry five decades ago, and while the industry has undergone many changes since then, his passion for providing the best client service has remained constant.
He has worked in the industry on the insurance and broker side, and has held various leadership positions, which helped in building Primak Insurance Brokers into what it is today.
On a personal note: Johan has a passion for people and enjoys social interactions with colleagues and industry associates.
Sandy has been working in the industry for 35 years and says his position at Primak today is a culmination of all the ups and downs during these years.
His career began in 1980 at UNSBIC as a vehicle insurance underwriter, which later became Guardian. He then moved to Standard General where he worked for the next two years as a broker consultant. Sandy then moved to the brokerage Swale Johnston where he gained broking experience. This company was bought by Glenyaal, where he was made Director, in charge of securing and controlling large commercial accounts.
In 1991, together with other business partners, Sandy started a brokerage which later acquired shares in the Primak business, where he continues to serve as Director.
On a personal note: He loves travelling, the outdoors and spending time with family. .
Johann Priem (Jnr)
Johann started working in the industry in 1990 as a claims clerk at Protektum Insurance Brokers, where he later moved from the claims side of the business into underwriting and marketing. During this time, he completed studies in the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) and Intermediate Certificate in Business Studies (ICIBS).
In 1999, he started working at Versma as part of the administrative team, administering policies on behalf of brokers and insurers. Johann became part of the management team, having had experience as a broker and administrator.
Johann has a passion for helping brokers and clients identify their insurance needs and providing the best possible solutions.
On a personal note: Johann loves sport and has been involved in the administration of various bodies at provincial and national level. He also loves the outdoors, especially cruising at sea in his boat.
Senior Administrative Manager
Franko has been working in the industry for more than a decade, starting his career at Mutual & Federal as an underwriting clerk. He was soon promoted to Section Head at the same company, and continued to gain experience in various lines of insurance in different roles at Mutual & Federal, before being promoted to Business Development Manager in 2017 at Old Mutual Insure. Franko joined Versma in February 2019 as an administrative manager.
On a personal note: Franko enjoys a round of golf and has a 15 Nautical Mile skipper’s license, which comes in handy when he’s out fishing.
